To end terrorism and exercise justice, We Should Follow the Path of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Dalai Lama

Islam continues to be falsely and ignorantly associated with terrorism and extremism, yet what it takes is a person to use an open mind to study the scriptures, i.e. The Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to know it’s nothing of that sort.

The 14th Dalai Lama, whose name is Tenzin Gyatso, a Tibetan spiritual leader, who is also a Nobel Laureate termed the Quran as a Sacred Book which is a priceless gift of God given to mankind for guidance and welfare of the entire humanity.

the leader expressed his views at the grand global meet of Buddhists. The spiritual leader also lauded the great services of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the mankind.

He said that, “The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life is the best example for the entire humanity. We should follow the path shown by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in order to establish global peace and to end terrorism and tyranny from the world. The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) message of peace, love, justice and religious tolerance will always be a leading light for the whole humanity.”

“Thousands of the followers of Buddhism from around the world thronged the venue for their world congregation at Buddhist Monastery in Bylakuppa”.

The Dalai Lama further reiterated the point that there’s no terrorism in any religion, it’s the mentally sick who take things out of context and do heinous crimes.

He said there is no such thing as a “Muslim terrorist” as anyone who partakes in violent activities is not a “genuine” Muslim.

Dalai Lama asserted that all religions were united by the values of love, compassion, tolerance and more. He argued that with this common ground the world would be able to build peace. He said,

“Buddhist terrorist. Muslim terrorist. That wording is wrong.Any person who wants to indulge in violence is no longer a genuine Buddhist or genuine Muslim, because it is a Muslim teaching that once you are involved in bloodshed, actually you are no longer a genuine practitioner of Islam.”

“All major religious traditions carry the same message: a message of love, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment, self-discipline – all religious traditions”.

He argued that differentiating between fundamentalism and Islam was a key way to stop violence and strengthen integration and we can build a genuine harmony, on the basis of mutual respect, mutual learning, mutual admiration.
