Francis Ford Cappola, one of the greatest Hollywood directors of all time & multiple Oscar winner praised Islam & explained Surah Al-Fatiha (the opening chapter of Holy Qur’an) in a very emotional way at a press conference at the 15th Marrakech International Film Festival.
The Italian-American director quoted and explained Surah Al-Fatiha and emphasized on the message of peace, mercy, tolerance and love advocated by the Holy Qur’an.
Coppola was answering a question at the event when he mentioned Surah Al-Fatiha. “If you know the Qur’an, the first words are: In the name of God, the Gracious and the Merciful. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, Master of the Book of Judgment,” Coppola quoted.
“Anyone who knows this beautiful religion that was the height of civilization in the 13th century, knows that at the root of that religion, the two most important words are that God is Gracious, God is Merciful, and we trust to that God to deliver us from this misunderstanding that is hurting people,” he added.
The way that he explained Qur’anic chapter & defended Islam brought tear into many eyes. The people sitting at the press conference were left speechless.
